After resetting your computer’s USB ports, please verify if you are able to connect the GoPro via USB cable or microSD card adapter and have GoPro App for Desktop recognize it under My Devices. Step 1: Get the Gear

You’ll need:

1. HERO8 Black

2. A USB-C cable (the one that came with your GoPro, for example)

3. Your computer

Step 2:Set Up the Point of View

GoPro Webcam is compatible with all existing GoPro mounts, so you can get creative with points of view. Step 3: Install and Launch the GoPro Webcam Desktop Utility

GoPro Studio is compatible on both Windows and Mac based operating systems and demands a minimum of a dual core CPU and four gigs of RAM.

Oh No…GoPro Studio won’t Open

While GoPro is a great choice for on-the-fly editing of your footage there is still the occasional compatibility issue with users operating system environments.

Some users have had issues during the initial install but even more had issues opening GoPro Studios even after regular use.

GoPro Studio won’t Open Windows 7 & 8

Users have reported a handful of errors opening GoPro Studio on Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

One of the big issues seen is regarding the .NET framework and version compatability.

Problem:

Upon downloading GoPro Studio and running the installer your PC will throw an error ‘TemplateInstaller.exe’ failed, but the software will continue to install.

Then on the first run a message box will appear stating ‘GoPro Studio.exe has stopped working’.

Fix:

Go to the ‘Control Panel’ in your Windows Start Menu.

Then navigate to ‘Turn Windows features on or off’.

Tick or turn on ‘Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1’ (required by GoPro Studio).

Now restart your PC.

It will take about 5 – 10 minutes for your Windows PC to update.

A message box should pop up and say ‘cleaning your computer’.

Don’t worry, every thing is going well and GoPro Studio should no stay open.

Problem:

GoPro Studio would open and has worked fine previously, and then suddenly GoPro Studio won’t open.

Fix:

If GoPro has opened at one point but now won’t the most likely issue is a hanging process.

Enter ‘Control + Alt + Delete’ on your keyboard and open the Windows Task Manager.

Right click on the ‘GoPro.exe’ process and select ‘End Process’.

Now attempt to re-open GoPro Studio and it should work!

GoPro Studio won’t Open Mac

Mac users are in the same boat as the GoPro Studio software will occasionally not open in Mac OS. Do not forget to make sure you have OS X 10.6 or later as this will cause issues from the start.

Problem:

When installing GoPro.dmg I get an error saying ‘Install failed, contact the manufacturer’.

Fix:

The first step is to go to the Mac Utilities folder and launch the ‘Disk Utility’.

Select the Mac HD that you are attempting to install GoPro Studio too.

Click on both ‘repair disc’ and ‘repair disc permissions’ in the bottom right.

How To Open Gopro On Mac

Once the disc and permissions repair is finished make sure all of you Mac Software is up-to-date.

Restart your Mac.

Attempt to update software one more time.

Launch GoPro Studio and you should now be up and running.
